The Meniscus lens is also called the meniscus lens. A meniscus lens is a lens with two spherical surfaces, convex on one side and concave on the other. The lens provides a smaller beam diameter to reduce beam waste and spherical aberration. When one meniscus is combined with another lens, the focal length is shortened and the numerical aperture of the system is increased. This reduces image distortion and improves image resolution.
Oplens provides a meniscus lens in both positive and negative focal lengths. On the aspect of shape, it can be divided into convex and concave meniscus lenses. On the aspect of the effect, it can be divided into diverging and converging meniscus lenses.
CaF2(Calcium Fluoride)
Calcium Fluoride is transparent from the UV to the IR (180 nm - 8.0 µm). It has a refractive index of 1.428 at 1.064 µm and is mechanically and environmentally stable. CaF2 is ideal for any demanding applications where its high damage threshold, low fluorescence, and high homogeneity are beneficial. It is popular in excimer laser applications and frequently used in spectroscopy and cooled thermal imaging.
Ge (Germanium)
Germanium Infrared (IR) Hybrid Aspheric Lenses provide diffraction-limited focusing performance at any wavelength in the 3 - 5μm
region, and near diffraction limited performance when used over the entire 3 -5μm spectral range. They are ideal for integration
into imaging applications, FTIR spectrometers, or any Mid-Wave IR application utilizing a broadband light source.
Si(Silicon)
Silicon offers high thermal conductivity and low density, making it suitable for laser mirrors. However, since silicon has a strong absorption band at 9 µm, it is not suitable for use with CO2 laser transmission applications. Silicon optics are also particularly well suited for imaging andbiomedical applications. Our Quantum Cascade Lasers offer a number of output wavelengths for use with silicon optics. Silicon has a transmission range from 1.2 µm to 8.0 µm. Silicon has a refractive index of 3.423 at 4.58 µm.
MgF2 (Magnesium Fluoride)
MgF2 are well suited for deep-UV applications, even extending into the vacuum-UV region. They offer >50% transmission at 120 nm, making them suitable for use with excimer laser systems, as well as applications involving the Hydrogen Lyman-α line at 121 nm. TMgF2 are also usable in the UVA, UVB, visible and IR ranges, with approximately 94% transmission from 200 - 1000 nm, and approximately 95% transmission from 1 - 6 µm.
ZnSe(Zinc Selenide)
Zinc SelenidehaslowIR absorption, and is transparent across a very wide 0.6-
16 um spectral range. This is advantageous for thermal imaging, where
temperaturesofremote objects are ascertained via their blackbody radiation
spectrumLongwavelength transparency is crucial for imaging room temperature
objects. which radiate at peak wavelength of approximately 10 um with very low
intensity.ZnSehasa high index ofrefraction which requires an anti-reflection
coating to achieve high transmission.
