Product Description

The asphericon is an asphere manufactured from fused silica which can be used both in the UV range as well as for laser applications with high power (> 1kW cw). This asphere combines the performance and quality of precision-polished lenses (RMS < 0.3 µm) with the cost advantages of mass production. Thanks to CNC polishing and grinding this aspheric lens meets the highest demands on production quality and tolerance.

The surface profiles of aspheric lenses are not a portion of a sphere or cylinder. Their curvature radius varies with the central axis. Aspheric lenses have unique advantages over spherical lenses. For example, they can improve optical quality, reduce optical components and design costs.

Processing

Oplens equipped Zygos which work by producing a beam of laser light and transmitting it to the optic under test by way of a very, very accurate lens fitted to the Zygo. This is the key to the instrument's accuracy. As the light passes through this lens, which is not coated, it enables 4% of the light to be reflected back into the Zygo.

Our manufacturing and final inspection of the optical components is based on DIN ISO 10110 to ensure uniform, controllable quality of the aspherical lenses.

Using CNC manufacturing processes, we will manufacture your plano convex lenses, biconvex lenses, plano concave lenses, biconcave lenses, achromatic lenses (doublets), quartz lenses, cylindrical lenses, menisci, and spheres.
